Last night at the Mindful Money awards held in the Viaduct, Auckland, in a room full of impact and ethical finance and investment peers, TAHITO Limited was named Best Ethical Retail Investment Provider. Te Tai o Rehua (Australasian Equity Fund) was acknowledged as the first investment fund to embody te Ao Māori values and principles, bringing a new important dimension to investing in Aotearoa New Zealand. ‘The judges recognised the important pioneering role that TAHITO is playing in bringing indigenous knowledge into investment management. While TAHITO is still a small provider, the Te Tai o Rehua fund has shown how a te Ao Māori perspective can be integrated into financially-sound investment.’ 

The managing Director and founder Temuera Hall thanked the Mindful Money judges for the recognition and for providing a huge boost and encouragement. He said “bringing indigenous values into financial investments effectively tips the industry on its head by following nature’s lore, putting the environment first and as best as we can, putting people before profit”.
